Widget of Time

Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 1, 2026  ·  Developer: Yash Pathak

Short versionWidget of Time does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Everything you do in the app stays on your device. The developer never sees any of it.

1. Who We Are

Widget of Time is an iOS app made by Yash Pathak, an independent developer based at yashpathack.com. If you have questions about this policy, you can reach out at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

None.

The developer does not collect, transmit, store on external servers, or otherwise process any personal information from users of Widget of Time. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind embedded in the app.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Widget of Time stores a small amount of data locally on your iPhone using Apple's standard UserDefaults mechanism. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to the developer or any third party. The data stored locally includes:

  • Links you save by tapping widget rows (Hacker News stories, GitHub repositories).
  • Your Notion API key, if you choose to configure the optional Notion export feature.
  • App preferences and settings you configure within the app.

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app permanently removes all associated data stored by Widget of Time.

4. Network Requests and Third-Party Services

Widget of Time fetches content from the following public and user-configured external services. No personal information is sent to these services as part of normal app operation.

Hacker News API (hacker-news.firebaseio.com)

Widget of Time fetches publicly available top stories from the Hacker News public API. This is a read-only, unauthenticated request. No personal data is sent. The Hacker News API is operated by Y Combinator. Refer to Y Combinator's privacy policy for their data practices.

GitHub API (api.github.com)

Widget of Time fetches publicly available trending repository information from the GitHub public API. This is a read-only, unauthenticated request. No personal data is sent. Refer to GitHub's privacy statement for their data practices.

Notion API (api.notion.com) — Optional

The Notion export feature is entirely optional and only activated if you choose to configure it. If you use this feature, you provide your own Notion API key, which is stored only on your device. When you trigger an export, Widget of Time sends your saved links directly from your device to your own Notion workspace using your key. The developer has no access to your Notion key, your Notion workspace, or the content of any export. Refer to Notion's privacy policy for their data practices.

5. No Analytics, Tracking, or Advertising

Widget of Time does not include any analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or behavioral tracking tools. No third-party SDKs that collect data are included in the app. The developer does not know how you use the app, how often you open it, or what content you interact with.

Apple may collect certain usage and diagnostic data through the App Store and the iOS operating system subject to your device privacy settings and your agreement with Apple. This is entirely governed by Apple's privacy policy.

6. Data Sharing

The developer does not share, sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose any user data to third parties — because no user data is collected in the first place.

7. Data Security

All data associated with Widget of Time (saved links, API key, preferences) resides solely on your device and is protected by iOS's built-in security and sandboxing mechanisms, including device encryption when your device is locked. Because no data is transmitted to developer-controlled servers, there is no developer-side risk of a data breach affecting your information.

Your Notion API key is stored in UserDefaults. While this storage is protected by iOS app sandboxing, you should treat your API key as sensitive and revoke it from your Notion integration settings if you no longer use the feature or if you believe it has been compromised.

8. Children's Privacy

Widget of Time is not directed at children under the age of 13 and is not designed or intended for use by children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and you have a concern, please contact us at [email protected].

9. Your Rights

Because the developer does not collect or store any personal data, there is no data for the developer to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. All data Widget of Time stores is on your own device and under your full control. You can remove it entirely by deleting the app.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, those rights apply to personal data held by data controllers — and since Widget of Time does not act as a data controller holding your information, those rights are exercised through your device and through the third-party services listed in Section 4, subject to their respective policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated in a meaningful way, the updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. If the app's data practices change significantly, users will be notified via an app update notice or an in-app message. Continued use of Widget of Time after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
